This guide explains how ERC-20, TRC-20, BEP-20, Solana and TON routes differ, how gas and withdrawal fees affect a transfer, and which checks help prevent an irreversible network or address mistake.

You want to withdraw crypto or move funds between exchanges and wallets safely.

Same token, different rails

USDT can exist on multiple networks. USDT on Ethereum, USDT on Tron, and USDT on BNB Chain are not the same deposit route. Sending to a network the receiver does not support can lead to lost funds.

The safest habit is to check asset, network, address, minimum deposit, and exchange status every time.

  • ERC20 usually has broad support but can be expensive.
  • TRC20 is common for USDT transfers and often cheaper.
  • BEP20 can be cheap, but both sides must support it.
  • Solana and TON can be fast, but exchange support varies.

Fee logic

Fees are not only annoying; they change whether an arbitrage or P2P route is profitable. A $7 withdrawal fee can destroy a $10 spread.

Beginners should always test new routes with a small amount before moving the full balance.

This guide uses the receiving platform’s requirements as the source of truth: asset, network, address format, memo or tag when required, minimum deposit and current deposit status. A matching token name alone is not evidence that a transfer route is compatible.

  • Confirm network fees and gas mechanics with the Ethereum gas documentation and the receiving platform’s live instructions.
  • For stablecoin network availability, use the issuer’s current information, such as Tether’s supported-protocols page, alongside the destination exchange’s deposit page.
  • Run a small test transfer whenever a route, address or network is new to you.
