Crypto deposit pending confirmations: what to check

A crypto deposit can be pending because the blockchain has not reached the confirmations required by the receiving service, or because the service has not yet credited an otherwise confirmed transaction. These are separate states, and neither should be diagnosed from an exchange balance alone.

Broadcast, confirmation and crediting differ

A transaction can be broadcast, included in a block, receive further confirmations and then await a recipient's internal crediting process. Each step can have a different status.

Requirements are network and platform specific

Confirmation thresholds, maintenance windows, token support and crediting rules vary. A block explorer and the receiving service's current deposit page answer different questions.

Do not resend to solve a pending deposit

A second transfer does not repair the first and can create another reconciliation problem. Diagnose the original transaction before taking any further action.

What a pending confirmation means

A blockchain transaction normally progresses from broadcast to block inclusion and additional confirmations. The number and meaning of confirmations vary by network and receiving service. A transaction that is visible on an explorer may still be waiting for the level of finality or confirmations required by a custodian.

The receiving platform then has its own crediting process. Maintenance, asset or network support checks, memo requirements and internal controls can affect when a balance is credited. A network confirmation is not identical to a completed deposit in every service.

A safe diagnostic sequence

Use the correct network explorer to confirm the transaction ID, destination, asset or token contract, status and confirmation count. Then compare those facts with the recipient's current deposit instructions, including the selected network and any memo or destination tag.

If the explorer shows the transaction is still pending, wait for the network rather than submitting duplicates. If it shows sufficient confirmations but the recipient has not credited it, use the recipient's official support path and provide the exact transaction ID and deposit details.

Avoid common mistakes

Do not infer a missing deposit is a wrong-network transfer without checking the explorer and recipient requirements. Pending confirmations, an omitted memo, an unsupported token and an incorrect network each need different handling.

MyCoinWay does not operate deposit crediting or transaction recovery. Its educational tools cannot replace a network explorer or the receiving service's official support process. Never provide a seed phrase or private key to diagnose a deposit.

Before you act

  • Open the transaction in the correct network explorer.
  • Check asset, token contract, network, address and memo or tag.
  • Compare confirmations with the recipient's current requirements.
  • Use official support only after the on-chain facts are clear.

Questions this page answers

Are confirmations the same as an exchange credit?

No. Confirmations are blockchain evidence; an exchange or wallet provider can have a separate internal crediting process.

Should I send the deposit again if it is pending?

No. Diagnose the original transaction first. A second transfer can create an additional issue.

Methodology and limits

This is a transfer-diagnostic explanation, not a live confirmation tracker or recovery service. Network and platform rules change. Verify the exact transaction and recipient instructions before acting.
