P2P completion rate: what it means and what it misses

A P2P completion rate usually summarizes how often a counterparty's orders were completed rather than cancelled over a platform-defined period. It can be useful context, but the calculation, time window and minimum trade history vary by platform. A percentage alone cannot establish that a trade is safe.

Read the platform definition

Completion rate can use a particular lookback period and a platform-specific treatment of cancellations. Confirm what the marketplace actually displays.

History matters with the percentage

A high rate based on a small number of orders says less than a similar rate with a longer relevant history. It still does not replace reading the current advertisement.

Safety is an order-level practice

Use escrow, verified payment details and in-platform communication. Do not release crypto from a screenshot, a message outside the order or pressure from a counterparty.

What completion rate can show

A completion figure may help describe whether past orders reached the platform's completed state. It can be one signal of operating history, especially when viewed with completed trade count, feedback and the platform's own display rules.

It is not a fraud score or guarantee. A counterparty can have a high historic percentage and still present unfamiliar payment terms, an account-name mismatch or instructions that violate the current order flow.

What to check besides completion rate

Read the advertiser's order terms, payment method and amount range. Confirm that the payment account name and method match the platform requirements, and keep all messages and evidence inside the official order chat.

Consider the number of completed trades, available verification signals, account age where a platform displays it, timing constraints and whether the payment method can be independently verified. Treat each item as context rather than a fixed safety threshold.

Limits of MyCoinWay data

MyCoinWay does not collect merchant-level P2P histories, completion rates, actual advertisements, payment-method liquidity or executable offers. It therefore cannot rate a counterparty.

The P2P Price Index may provide reference-price context only. It does not answer whether an individual merchant will complete a specific trade, so no tool CTA is used for that claim.

Before you act

  • Check the platform's definition and time window.
  • Review completed trade count as well as percentage.
  • Read the current order terms and use escrow.
  • Verify funds independently before release.

Questions this page answers

Is there a safe P2P completion-rate threshold?

No universal percentage can establish safety. Platform definitions and order-level risks differ.

Can a completion rate replace payment checks?

No. Confirm the current order, payment account and platform rules independently.
